Healthcare stocks edge higher
Healthcare stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index increasing 226.47 points or 1.59% at 14426.93 at 09:52 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Aurobindo Pharma Ltd (up 15.05%), Wockhardt Ltd (up 5.28%),Opto Circuits (India) Ltd (up 5.24%),IOL Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 5.14%),Jubilant Life Sciences Ltd (up 4.91%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Ipca Laboratories Ltd (up 4.9%), Abbott India Ltd (up 4.48%), Granules India Ltd (up 4.41%), Shilpa Medicare Ltd (up 3.9%), and Gufic BioSciences Ltd (up 3.79%).
On the other hand, Fermenta Biotech Ltd (down 2.78%), Vivimed Labs Ltd (down 1.67%), and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd (down 0.97%) turned lower.
At 09:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 242.66 or 0.59% at 41137.04.
The Nifty 50 index was up 82.65 points or 0.69% at 12075.15.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 134.61 points or 0.93% at 14602.04.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 46.09 points or 0.92% at 5038.98.
On BSE,1105 shares were trading in green, 390 were trading in red and 54 were unchanged.
