Metal stocks edge higher

Metal stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Metal index increasing 10.62 points or 0.17% at 6292.63 at 09:52 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Metal index, Vedanta Ltd (up 2.6%), Coal India Ltd (up 1.2%), Hindustan Zinc Ltd (up 0.86%), National Aluminium Company Ltd (up 0.33%), and Hindalco Industries Ltd (up 0.09%), were the top gainers.

On the other hand, NMDC Ltd (down 2.99%), Steel Authority of India Ltd (down 1.77%), and Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (down 0.42%) turned lower.

At 09:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 208.78 or 0.68% at 30370.31.

The Nifty 50 index was down 51.45 points or 0.57% at 8915.6.

 

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 182.62 points or 1.68% at 10661.17.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 70.69 points or 1.85% at 3741.02.

On BSE,626 shares were trading in green, 906 were trading in red and 62 were unchanged.
