Oil and Gas stocks edge higher
Oil and Gas stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index increasing 238.34 points or 1.54% at 15677.84 at 09:47 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, Petronet LNG Ltd (up 5.09%), Castrol India Ltd (up 4.18%),Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 3.18%),Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 2.29%),Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 1.93%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (up 1.66%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 0.66%), GAIL (India) Ltd (up 0.32%), Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (up 0.11%), and Reliance Industries Ltd (up 0.1%).
At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 61.97 or 0.16% at 39893.81.
The Nifty 50 index was up 22.25 points or 0.19% at 11809.1.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 45.39 points or 0.34% at 13428.99.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 5.65 points or 0.12% at 4598.76.
On BSE,885 shares were trading in green, 538 were trading in red and 73 were unchanged.
