Oil and Gas stocks edge higher
Oil and Gas stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index increasing 222.8 points or 2% at 11357.43 at 09:52 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, Castrol India Ltd (up 5.71%), Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (up 5.2%),GAIL (India) Ltd (up 2.85%),Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (up 2.13%),Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 2%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 1.93%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 1.83%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 1.51%), Reliance Industries Ltd (up 0.49%), and Petronet LNG Ltd (up 0.36%).
At 09:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 181.6 or 0.58% at 31561.15.
The Nifty 50 index was up 61.7 points or 0.67% at 9249.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 196.68 points or 1.85% at 10838.25.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 76.31 points or 2.04% at 3808.09.
On BSE,1127 shares were trading in green, 348 were trading in red and 79 were unchanged.
