Oil and Gas stocks rise

Oil and Gas stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index increasing 86.97 points or 0.57% at 15215.97 at 09:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 2.25%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 1.52%),Castrol India Ltd (up 1.35%),Petronet LNG Ltd (up 1.02%),Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 0.84%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were GAIL (India) Ltd (up 0.69%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 0.39%), and Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (up 0.17%).

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (down 1.14%), and Reliance Industries Ltd (down 0.01%) turned lower.

 

At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 139.59 or 0.36% at 39159.98.

The Nifty 50 index was up 27.2 points or 0.23% at 11609.8.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 23.22 points or 0.18% at 13227.53.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 14.1 points or 0.31% at 4525.2.

On BSE,774 shares were trading in green, 548 were trading in red and 81 were unchanged.
