Oil and Gas stocks rise

Oil and Gas stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index increasing 298.87 points or 2.37% at 12918.88 at 09:52 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 3.83%), Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (up 3.1%),Reliance Industries Ltd (up 2.69%),Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 2.38%),Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 2.29%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Petronet LNG Ltd (up 2%), Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (up 1.96%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 1.88%), GAIL (India) Ltd (up 0.53%), and Castrol India Ltd (up 0.2%).

At 09:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 614.95 or 1.61% at 38912.24.

 

The Nifty 50 index was up 169.55 points or 1.51% at 11371.3.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 246.03 points or 1.79% at 13955.04.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 86.04 points or 1.82% at 4817.48.

On BSE,1246 shares were trading in green, 386 were trading in red and 56 were unchanged.
