Power shares ease

Power stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Power index falling 23.61 points or 1.18% at 1977.6 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 5.3%), Tata Power Company Ltd (down 3.92%),Siemens Ltd (down 2.69%),Thermax Ltd (down 1.89%),ABB India Ltd (down 1.39%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were NHPC Ltd (down 1.06%), Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (down 1.02%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 0.8%), NTPC Ltd (down 0.66%), and Torrent Power Ltd (down 0.59%).

On the other hand, Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (up 4.92%), Adani Transmission Ltd (up 1.41%), and Adani Power Ltd (up 0.72%) moved up.

 

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 173.87 or 0.45% at 38884.96.

The Nifty 50 index was down 52.5 points or 0.45% at 11551.6.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 31.34 points or 0.24% at 13191.72.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 19.73 points or 0.44% at 4496.09.

On BSE,977 shares were trading in green, 1297 were trading in red and 139 were unchanged.
