Power shares slide

Power stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Power index falling 23.79 points or 1.24% at 1897.66 at 13:49 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (down 7.33%), Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (down 4.86%),Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 3.42%),Adani Transmission Ltd (down 2.17%),NTPC Ltd (down 1.94%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were ABB India Ltd (down 1.9%), Tata Power Company Ltd (down 1.9%), Adani Power Ltd (down 1.67%), Siemens Ltd (down 1.39%), and JSW Energy Ltd (down 1.25%).

On the other hand, Thermax Ltd (up 1.15%), and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (up 0.07%) moved up.

 

At 13:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 256.48 or 0.68% at 37384.79.

The Nifty 50 index was down 65.9 points or 0.59% at 11039.45.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 51.89 points or 0.41% at 12536.89.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 23.11 points or 0.54% at 4233.91.

On BSE,883 shares were trading in green, 1454 were trading in red and 137 were unchanged.
