Power shares fall

Power stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Power index falling 21.83 points or 1.09% at 1988.36 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, NHPC Ltd (down 4.07%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 2.67%),Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 2.59%),Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (down 1.18%),Thermax Ltd (down 1.16%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Adani Power Ltd (down 1.1%), Adani Transmission Ltd (down 0.63%), CESC Ltd (down 0.32%), Tata Power Company Ltd (down 0.25%), and Siemens Ltd (down 0.24%).

On the other hand, Torrent Power Ltd (up 0.14%), moved up.

 

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 149.14 or 0.36% at 41379.77.

The Nifty 50 index was down 42.35 points or 0.35% at 12182.2.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 6.57 points or 0.04% at 14657.74.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 9.24 points or 0.18% at 5012.22.

On BSE,1011 shares were trading in green, 1332 were trading in red and 163 were unchanged.
