Power stocks edge lower

Power stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Power index decreasing 35.81 points or 1.89% at 1859.78 at 13:52 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, Adani Transmission Ltd (down 3.21%), Tata Power Company Ltd (down 2.26%),Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 2.21%),K E C International Ltd (down 1.98%),Torrent Power Ltd (down 1.97%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (down 1.85%), NTPC Ltd (down 1.78%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 1.75%), CESC Ltd (down 1.6%), and NHPC Ltd (down 1.47%).

On the other hand, Thermax Ltd (up 0.15%), turned up.

 

At 13:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 140.95 or 0.34% at 41318.84.

The Nifty 50 index was down 39.35 points or 0.32% at 12135.3.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 5.32 points or 0.04% at 14736.4.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 16.62 points or 0.33% at 5079.79.

On BSE,953 shares were trading in green, 1411 were trading in red and 151 were unchanged.
