Power stocks edge lower

Power stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Power index decreasing 20.82 points or 1.05% at 1956.71 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, Siemens Ltd (down 2.26%), K E C International Ltd (down 1.85%),Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 1.75%),Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (down 1.52%),Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 1.11%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were NTPC Ltd (down 0.96%), Adani Transmission Ltd (down 0.77%), CESC Ltd (down 0.38%), and Tata Power Company Ltd (down 0.33%).

On the other hand, Torrent Power Ltd (up 1.85%), NHPC Ltd (up 0.73%), and Thermax Ltd (up 0.41%) turned up.

 

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 296.65 or 0.71% at 41316.54.

The Nifty 50 index was down 81.25 points or 0.66% at 12167.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 56.84 points or 0.38% at 14902.8.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 21.51 points or 0.42% at 5125.45.

On BSE,1078 shares were trading in green, 1280 were trading in red and 161 were unchanged.
