Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index records a surge of 3.86%, NIFTY climbs 1.35%

Nifty Metal index ended up 3.86% at 5485.8 today. The index has added 15.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Tata Steel Ltd jumped 7.22%, Welspun Corp Ltd rose 6.38% and Hindalco Industries Ltd added 5.77%. The Nifty Metal index has decreased 6.00% over last one year compared to the 8.74% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Commodities index increased 2.46% and Nifty PSE index increased 1.87% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 1.35% to close at 17158.25 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 1.25% to close at 57570.25 today.
