Syndicate Bank announces appointment of director

Syndicate Bank announced that in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section 3(g) of Section 9 of the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970/1980 read with sub-clause (b) clause 9(2) of the Nationalized Banks (Management & Miscellaneous Provisions) Scheme, 1970/1980, the Central Government vide its notification dated 23 August 2016, has nominated Jayant Purushottam Gokhale as Part-time Nonofficial Director under Chartered Accountant category on the Board of Directors of the Bank for a period of 3 years from the date of notification or until further orders, whichever is earlier. His appointment is subject to his resignation from the Board of LIC Nomura Mutual Fund Asset Management company, before joining the Board of the Bank.
