Telecom shares fall

Telecom stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Telecom index falling 15.84 points or 1.54% at 1011.1 at 13:52 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Telecom index, GTL Infrastructure Ltd (down 4%), Bharti Airtel Ltd (down 2.45%), Sterlite Technologies Ltd (down 1.34%), and Vodafone Idea Ltd (down 1.24%), were the top losers.

On the other hand, OnMobile Global Ltd (up 9.97%), ITI Ltd (up 7.05%), and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (up 4.89%) moved up.

At 13:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 189.09 or 0.63% at 29878.12.

The Nifty 50 index was down 36.8 points or 0.42% at 8755.4.

 

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 170.81 points or 1.74% at 9968.02.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 55.43 points or 1.59% at 3544.85.

On BSE,1433 shares were trading in green, 731 were trading in red and 152 were unchanged.
