Telecom shares gain
Telecom stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Telecom index rising 0.2 points or 0.02% at 902.4 at 09:45 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Telecom index, Vodafone Idea Ltd (up 10.49%), Optiemus Infracom Ltd (up 4.58%), OnMobile Global Ltd (up 1.5%), GTL Infrastructure Ltd (up 1.47%), Bharti Airtel Ltd (up 0.21%), and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (up 0.17%), were the top gainers.
On the other hand, Tejas Networks Ltd (down 2.66%), Sterlite Technologies Ltd (down 2.06%), and ITI Ltd (down 1.75%) moved lower.
At 09:45 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 180.69 or 0.49% at 36383.19.
The Nifty 50 index was down 53.4 points or 0.49% at 10787.25.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 31.56 points or 0.24% at 12862.67.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 11.25 points or 0.26% at 4265.21.
On BSE,482 shares were trading in green, 772 were trading in red and 61 were unchanged.
