Telecom shares move up

Telecom stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Telecom index rising 27.48 points or 2.37% at 1188.55 at 09:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Telecom index, Vodafone Idea Ltd (up 10.79%), Bharti Airtel Ltd (up 2.37%),Sterlite Technologies Ltd (up 2.25%),HFCL Ltd (up 1.38%),Vindhya Telelinks Ltd (up 1.18%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Bharti Infratel Ltd (up 1.12%), and ITI Ltd (up 0.49%).

On the other hand, Reliance Communications Ltd (down 4.55%), moved lower.

At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 539.17 or 1.7% at 32181.87.

The Nifty 50 index was up 164.75 points or 1.78% at 9416.25.

 

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 90.65 points or 0.85% at 10729.35.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 41.51 points or 1.1% at 3798.37.

On BSE,1057 shares were trading in green, 404 were trading in red and 75 were unchanged.
