Utilties stocks edge lower

Utilties stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Utilities index decreasing 19.06 points or 1.07% at 1767.69 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Utilities index, GVK Power & Infrastructure Ltd (down 13.52%), Va Tech Wabag Ltd (down 3.84%),Reliance Power Ltd (down 2.99%),Tata Power Company Ltd (down 2.6%),Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 1.66%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were NTPC Ltd (down 1.59%), PTC India Ltd (down 1.47%), Adani Power Ltd (down 1.29%), SJVN Ltd (down 1.21%), and Adani Transmission Ltd (down 1.18%).

On the other hand, BF Utilities Ltd (up 9.26%), Mahanagar Gas Ltd (up 3.06%), and JSW Energy Ltd (up 2.3%) turned up.

 

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 25.56 or 0.07% at 38480.53.

The Nifty 50 index was down 3.6 points or 0.03% at 11424.7.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 24.49 points or 0.19% at 12798.1.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 1.48 points or 0.03% at 4355.93.

On BSE,1097 shares were trading in green, 1188 were trading in red and 199 were unchanged.
