Hockey: IOCL face Army XI in final

Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, along with Army XI entered the final of the 89th MCC Murugappa Gold Cup All-India hockey tournament here on Saturday with contrasting victories.

IOCL overcame Punjab and Sind Bank 2-1 with Vikash Sharma (41st) and veteran Deepak Thakur (60th) scoring while Karamjit Singh (69th) struck for the bankmen in a match that could have gone either way.

Later, Army XI eased past CAG 3-0 as Biraj Ekka (13th), Chandan Aind (17th) and Binoy Bhengra (28th) scored in the first half to seal the issue.
