Seven policemen killed in Afghanistan

Seven policemen were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Afghanistan's Helmand province on Thursday, officials said.

"Unidentified armed men shot dead and killed seven police personnel at a checkpoint in Bartaqi area of Garmsir district," district police chief told Xinhua news agency.

Investigation has been initiated into the case, he said.
