Staying put

Ometa Paul, a Central Information Services officer was Officer on Special Duty to Pranab Mukherjee when he was foreign minister in the first UPA government. When the government was in its last days, her appointment was cleared as a member of the Central Information Commission. Now that the UPA is back in power, Paul is not going to join the CIC and will be Mukherjee’s advisor in the finance ministry. Deepak Sandhu, who was handling the media in the Prime Minister’s Office after Sanjaya Baru moved to Singapore, will join the CIC as a member.
