10,268 pilgrims from the state performed Haj this season through Kerala Haj Committee, Minister for Local Administration K T Jaleel said today.
Of this, 4,858 were men and 5,410 women.
Besides, nine children from Kerala also performed Haj this year, he said during Question Hour in the Assembly.
The minister said efforts would be made to get more Haj seats for the state next year.
3,291 pilgrims visited Mecca from Kozhikode, 2,391 from Malappuram, Kannur 1,216 and Kasargod 888, Ernakulam 766, Palakkad 392, Waynad 315, Kollam 215, Kottayam 203, Alappuzha 128, Thiruvananthapuram 184, Pathanamthitta 38, Idukki 92 and Thrissur 49.
