179 children die in AES in Bihar

Out of 473 AES victims, 179 died in different government hospitals till date, Additional Health Secretary R P Ojha said.

The death of 122 children was reported from the SKMCH and Kejriwal charitable hospital at Muzaffarpur, 46 others died at the PMCH in Patna and 11 in the ANMCH in Gaya.

As many as 27 patients have been admitted in the hospitals with symptoms of the AES in the past 24 hours, Ojha said.

He said that medical teams have been set up in Muzaffarpur (17), Patna (23), Vaishali (24), Sitamarhi (24), Gaya (24), Bhojpur (15), Nawada (15) and Nalanda (20) to identity AES patients in these districts.
