The department has also distributed acknowledgement certificates among 330 ex-servicemen and defence widows in the period December 15, 2008, to October 2011.

According to the sources, the department has also extended scholarships of Rs 34,500 each to 33 students, 25 of them girls for the year 2009-10.

For the years 2010-11 and 2011-12, scholarships have been distributed to 24 students each with the aid amount hiked to Rs 60,000 per head.
