After MCD win, BJP councillor sent back to jail

Prasad, who was re-elected as councillor from Sangam Park, surrendered before the court of Additional Sessions Judge A K Chawla after his interim bail expired today.
The court remanded him in judicial custody as neither did he seek extension of his interim bail nor did he apply for a regular bail.
Prasad, 47, was arrested on April 11 along with his accomplice Manoj Bhagat and Anil Yadav for allegedly stabbing party worker Jai Prakash to death at Azadpur railway station.
He was granted interim bail on April 13 on the ground that he was contesting municipal elections and that political vendetta could not be ruled out.
