Black pepper, ginger rebound on fresh buying

Black pepper and ginger prices rebounded sharply at the spices market here today following good offtake by stockists and exporters amid low stock positions.

While, copra, across the spectrum of varieties closed stable in the absence of necessary buying support amid ample supplies.

Black pepper rose by Rs 10 per kilo to Rs 760/810 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 750/800.

Ginger bleached and unbleached also firmed up by Rs 10 per kilo each to Rs 340 and Rs 360 respectively, as against Rs 330 and Rs 350 yesterday.

Black pepper (per kg) 760/810 (750/800), ginger bleached (per kg) 340 (330), ginger unbleached (per kg) 360 (350), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 11,000 (11,000), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 10,500 (10,500), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 17,000 (17,000), Copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 13,500 (13,500).
