The erstwhile Left Front regime did not ensure a proper food cycle for elephants in jungles, which led them to stray into human habitations, Forest minister Binay Krishna Barman said today.
Elephants strayed into villages near jungles as the Left Front regime did not do much for ensuring a proper food cycle for them, Barman told the Assembly.
He also alleged that the previous regime took a few steps which were not good for forests.
