"Rains are likely to hit the capital by the end of this month. Ensure that there is not silt or floating material in the drains falling under the corporation's jurisdiction," NDMC Commissioner Praveen Kumar Gupta said.

He also directed that all drains be cleaned for proper outfall and covered so that the floating material does not hamper the outfall, so as to prevent water logging like situation in the capital.

The commissioner was apprised of the efforts being done by the various departments in coordination for prevention of dengue in the zone, the NDMC said in a statement.
