Former UP Shia Waqf Board Chairman expelled from SP

"Rizvi has been expelled from the party for six years due to his indiscipline behaviour," party spokesman Rajendra Chowdhury said.

Rizvi's expulsion is being seen as an attempt to please Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Jawwad with whom Rizvi was not having good terms.

The two are at loggerheads over various issues, including alleged encroachment of Waqf land by Rizvi and his supporters.
