Barmer sizzled at 45.2 degrees Celsius today despite squall and thundershowers in parts of Rajasthan since yesterday.
Heatwave further picked up as the temperature rose by one to three degrees at most places in north-west regions of the state, a MeT offical said.
Jaisalmer recorded a maximum temperature of 44.3 degrees Celsius followed by Jodhpur 43.7, Kota, Bikaner, Churu 42.6 each, and Jaipur 40.8 degrees Celsius.
Due to upper air cyclonic system and a partial western disturbance which hit Hadauri region yesterday, Bundi recorded rainfall of 6 mm, Rawatbhata 0.9 mm and Kota 0.5 mm till 8.30 am today, the official said.
Weather would be mainly dry and temperature would further record an upward swing.
