The husband of a block development committee (BDC) member was shot dead allegedly over an old enmity at a village here, police said today.
Manju Singh (38), husband of BDC member Rakhi, was shot dead allegedly by three men yesterday at Guldia village in the Sirauli area when he had gone to a barbershop, they said.
An FIR has been lodged in this connection against one Arjun Singh and two others at Sirauli police station, they added.
The incident was stated to be the fallout of an old enmity. A probe is on into the matter, police said.

Meanwhile, police said the BSF jawan had tried to
intervene when the heated argument ensued between the two sides.
He, however, fell to the bullets as several rounds of fire were used by one of the accused group, they said.
A police official has also been booked in the case for alleged negligence of duty.
