Three bike-borne men looted an employee of a liquor store here at gunpoint Monday, police said.
The incident took place in the morning at Chiranjiv Vihar colony here.
The accused fired shots into the air when the employee opposed the robbery bid, they said.
SP (City) Shlok Kumar said according to the complaint lodged by the liquor store owner, the employee, Rupendra Chaudhary, took Rs 8 lakh from his house and reached his office where the store owner runs his real estate office.
As soon as Chaudhary reached the office with the bag containing cash, three bike-borne robbers accosted him and tried to snatch the bag. When he resisted their bid, the accused fired shots into the air and fled away with the bag.
Footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area has been obtained, the SP (City) said, adding that a probe was underway.
