Man gets ten years jail for murder of minor daughter

A man was sentenced to ten years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) by a local court that found him guilty of killing his four-year-old daughter last year.

Additional Sessions Judge Lakhanlal Garg awarded the sentence to Raghuveer Jatav yesterday for smothering his daughter Muskan in an inebriated condition on November 4, 2014, Assistant Public Prosecutor Manvendra Rana told PTI today.

Jatav, under the influence of alcohol, had a quarrel with his wife Rajkumari and thereafter killed Muskan, he said.

Rajkumari lodged a complaint with the police who filed a charge sheet in the court against Jatav, he said.

The court, after examining the material on record as well as witnesses, awarded the imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 on him.
