Man held for duping motor company of Rs 3 Cr

A person was arrested for allegedly duping a motor company to the tune of over Rs three crore, from Gole Market area, police said today.

The Economic Offences Wing of Delhi police arrested Javed Alam (33) who was associated with a south Delhi-based fashion house, from Gole Market area on February 18, a senior officer said.

The official representative of Eicher Goodearth Pvt Ltd J S Lamba had lodged a complaint alleging that Zenab Fashions had sold four plots to his company in 2008 which were located in Mehrauli on the basis of forged documents and hiding a pending litigation, the officer said.
 

An FIR in this connection was lodged in July 2012 under various sections of IPC and investigation was taken up, he said.

"The complainant alleged that the accused, including Javed Alam, concealed the fact that the property was under litigation and thereby sold it deceitfully. It was also alleged that the accused had sold them less land and took full amount thus cheating it to the tune of approximately Rs 3.50 crore," said DCP (EOW) Mangesh Kashyap.

During investigation, it was revealed that a partition suit was pending before the Civil Judge of Tis Hazari Court in Delhi at the time of selling the land to the complainant company, he said.

The civil suit was filed by Asad Khan and Faishal Rehman, nephews of accused Javed Alam, against Zarina Alam and Shane Alam, his wife and brother, for partition of the property.

All the four were joint holders of the property and this fact was concealed from the complainant company at the time of selling the properties, police said.

According to police, the property was having joint title and the accused in conspiracy with each other prepared a forged general power of attorney and a memorandum of family settlement and used these fake papers to sell it in Mehrauli, to their own company Zeenab Faishons Pvt Ltd and thereafter to Eicher Goodearth Pvt Ltd.
