Amid reports of a rift with former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Haryana Congress chief Ashok Tanwar today said there has not been any discussion with Hooda on his proposed 'Jan Sampark' programme against the BJP government in the state.

"So far, there has not been any consultation (on the 'Jan Sampark Yatra') and if consultation takes place and if the programme is in the interest of the party and the people, then the state Congress Committee will provide complete support to anyone whether he is a block level leader, state leader or a national leader," Tanwar said here.

The state Congress chief, at the conclusion of the three-day brainstorming session with party leaders, was asked to respond to Hooda's proposed 'Jan Sampark' programme, which is scheduled to start from Jind in May.

Reports of rift between Hooda and Tanwar were gaining ground in the state after Hooda yesterday held a luncheon meeting at his new official residence here which was being seen as a show of strength and was attended by several party leaders, including all 15 MLAs of the party.

However, Tanwar did not attend Hooda's lunch, saying he was busy with the party meeting.

Asked about his relations with Hooda, Tanwar said he does not have "unfriendly" relations with anyone in the party. He also endorsed the view of Haryana Congress co-incharge Asha Kumari, who has described Hooda as "the tallest leader of the party" in Haryana.

Tanwar also refuted reports of internal bickering within the party. "All is very well within the party," he asserted.
