Portion of historic Dandi bridge damaged due to fire

Some of the wooden planks fitted at the bottom of the bridge were damaged as somebody from the nearby slums had burnt garbage below the bridge, they said.

According to fire officials, the portion that connects the main road and the bridge, was damaged as the fire destroyed the wooden planks causing a big hole in the floor of the bridge.

They said that the fire has been doused and the concerned department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has been informed about the incident.
