Pro-Maoist outfit leader held

A leader of a pro-Maoist outfit has been arrested from his house at Moovattupuzha in Ernakulam district, police said today. Ajayan Mannur, leader of the Revolutionary Democratic Front, was arrested yesterday for allegedly meeting a group of people, having Maoist links, at Mavelikkara in Alappuzha district on December 29 last. The RDF leader is suspected to have organised the meeting. Ajayan has also been charged with distributing pamphlets in various parts of Ernakulam district in recent days. He was produced before the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court at Mavelikkara and remanded in judicial custody for 14 days.
