Ram Kadam, dubbed as 'Ravan' by the Opposition for telling youngsters that he would "kidnap" a girl they like even if she rejects their proposal, is the latest
from the Maharashtra BJP unit to make headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Leading the pack is state Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) president Raosaheb Danve, whose off the cuff remarks have caused ripples in the political circles on many occasions.
From appealing people to accept money before the date of polling to offering an exchange of banned notes, Danve has often left the saffron party red-faced.
"Can the Opposition give us in writing that after the implementation of the loan waiver scheme, farmers would not commit suicide?" he said last year in response to a criticism that the BJP-led government in Maharashtra was implementing the farmers loan waiver "half-heartedly".
In 2016, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis raised eyebrows when he said, "When political power gets corrupt, religious authorities help them get back to their actual path". He made the statement while sharing stage with controversial religious figure Narendra Maharaj.
