Capital market regulator Sebi today inaugurated new premises of its local office in Panaji, Goa.
It was inaugurated by Sebi Whole Time Member Prashant Saran.
To bring physical proximity of its offices to investors and intermediaries, Sebi has been opening local offices in different parts of the country.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has already opened offices at Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, Patna, Ranchi, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Dehradun, Jaipur,Indore and Raipur.
"The jurisdiction of the local office at Panaji whose new premises was inaugurated today extends to the state of Goa," Sebi said in a release.
This office would be under the administrative control and jurisdiction of Sebi's regional office in Ahmedabad.
