Those who lost property and crops would also be compensated, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told reporters here after a special cabinet meeting.
Chandy said he would visit the flood affected ares of Kannur and Kozhikode district tomorrow along with Finance Minister K M Mani and Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty.
Those who lost land would be given the same extent of land with a ceiling of one acre, he said. As per the preliminary report of respective district collectors, the area suffered severe loss of property and crops.
The Cabinet also discussed in detail the drought condition prevailing in some parts of the state and decided to submit a memorandum to the Centre seeking financial assistance, Chandy said.
On power crisis, he said government would extend an assistance of Rs.185 crores to the Kerala State Electricity Board to tide over the situation.
