Sugar prices dropped at the Vashi wholesale sugar market here today due to lack of demand from stockists and bulk consumers amid poor enquiries from upcountry buyers.
Medium sugar (M-30) declined by Rs 18 per quintal to Rs 3,182/3,401 from Monday's closing level of Rs 3,200/3,401.
Small sugar (S-30) eased by Rs 6 per quintal to Rs 3,116/3,221, as compared to Rs 3,122/3,221 previously.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,182/3,401 (Rs 3,200/3,401).
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,116/3,221 (Rs 3,122/3,221.
