Two minor boys drowned

Two minor boys drowned while they

were taking a bath in a water body at Nandlalpurin in Bihar's Munger district today.

Ankit Kumar (10) and Anshu Kumar (9) slipped into the deep water and drowned while they were taking a bath in a tank, Sub-Divisional Officer Kundan Kumar said.

The incident sparked off a protest by the local people who blocked Munger-Sitakund Road for several hours demanding adequate compensation to the families of the deceased boys.

The SDO pacified the agitators by providing an ex-gratia assistance of Rs 20,000 to the families of each victim.
