Youth attempts suicide by jumping in front of metro at Rajiv

An 18-year-old youth allegedly attempted suicide by jumping in front of the metro at the Rajiv Chowk metro station this afternoon.

The youth, Paras, was allegedly depressed and tried to jump in front of the metro going towards Noida/Vaishali around 1 PM today, said a senior police officer.

The boy had a narrow escape and was saved in the nick of time as the driver applied emergency brakes, he said.

The boy was taken to a hospital and his father was informed. Further investigation is underway.
