A 21-year-old youth, upset over his girlfriend's engagement, allegedly killed her and later committed suicide by hanging himself in Ajraunda village here.
Mukesh murdered the girl (21) at his rented accommodation in the village late last night, according to police.
The youth was upset with his girlfriend over her recent engagement, police said.
He called the girl at his rented room last night and after a heated argument killed her, they said, adding thereafter the youth hanged himself in the room.
Both bodies were taken to district hospital for post mortem.
House owner Meherchand knocked on the door Mukesh's room this morning but when no response came for a long time, the door was broken, police said.
Meherchand spotted the two bodies and informed police about the incident.
The matter is being probe, they said.
