5 Sebs Owe Ntpc Rs 364.65 Crore

Five state electricity boards in the southern region owe outstanding dues amounting to Rs 364.65 crore to the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), the corporations Ramagundam general manager, T Sankaralimgam, said yesterday. At a press conference here, Sankaralimgam said the Aandhra Pradesh State Electricity Board owes Rs 163 crore to the corporation as on March 31, 1998. He said dues owed by other state utilities excluding surcharges are Kerala (Rs 76 crore), Tamil Nadu (Rs 61 crore), Pondicherry (Rs 7.12 crore) and Goa (Rs 4.5 crore).
