A Site On Crooks Who Failed To Break In

It is bad enough being a crook, but what does one do with stupid or plain unlucky crooks? Set up a website called www.dumbcrooks.com so that the whole world can laugh at the stories of crime gone awry.

For instance, there is the story of Ronald Dean Cherry, 52, thought he would "win" some money from a casino without leaving his house.

He phoned the Treasure Bay Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi and demanded they deliver $100,000 to his house or he would come to the casino and start shooting people. He then gave them his home address.

"It makes our job extremely easy when they give their name and address," said Biloxi police captain William Kirk. "We love that type of work. Unfortunately, not all criminals will cooperate."

And then there were the pair of robbers who tried to break into the bank before it opened. Unfortunately for them, the tellers called the police and the wanna-be robbers had to flee leaving their getaway car behind.

Sitagita webbed

If it is not e-commerce and not a youth portal, then it has to be portal for women. The website, sitagita.com, is targeted at women of all ages from teenagers to those in their 50's. The site addresses concerns like overdressed brides to stock market crashes.

There is even a Grandma's Corner where home remedies are doled out. And then there is the section on women of substance-women from various walks of life who have managed to carve out a niche for themselves in their chosen profession. The portal is huge and even has a section on vets. It also has the usual sections on crystal gazing, beauty queries and what have you. For those who have the time and are so inclined, www.sitagita.com is worth a look-see.

Freshlimesoda

There are youth portals aplenty. The latest one to hit the Infobahn is www.freshlimesoda.com. The website has very few sections and the good thing is that most of the articles seem to have been written by people in the age-group the site wishes to address.

The site has various sections like fiction, features, opinion, poetry and columns.

The world still has its share of sensible, cynical teenagers as is evident by the articles posted on the site. Also, the section on poetry is not advised except for masochists. Though to be fair, some of the poems are really not that bad, though one would probably have to sift through a lot of chaff first. While the articles and short stories make for better reading, what really baffles is the site's reluctance to make the articles reader-friendly by creating more paragraphs. Maybe it is my profession, but 500 words in one paragraph seems worse than blasphemy.

Tenders by a click

There are sites galore on the World Wide Web dedicated to making life easier for Netizens. The new kid on the block in this particular instance happens to be www.all-tenders.com. The site provides information on tenders floated in India and abroad. The tenders are classified into categories, sub-categories, locations, tender value, tendering agencies as well as the date of publication.
