Ajanta Pharma To Set Up Rs 50-Cr Plant

Ajanta Pharma Ltd (APL), a Rs 81-crore company, is setting up a bulk drugs plant at Waluj, near Aurangabad. Spread over 16 acres, the plant is being set up at a cost of Rs 50 crore.
The manufacturing facility has been divided into two main plants. The first plant has a capacity to manufacture about 200 tonnes per annum (TPA) of amoxycillin and ampicillin, while the second one can produce 60 tpa of rifampicin. Ajanta Pharmas bulk drug plant also has an integrated formulation facility.
The plant, with a research and development set up, will strengthen the core competency of our company, said Purushottam Agrawal, managing director, Ajanata Pharma. The reactors for processing raw materials are designed with advanced agitator design to give higher yields. The plant has been designed as per United States FDA regulations.

A three-stage effluent treatment plant has also been set up. Ajanta Pharma is engaged in the manufacture of healthcare products and bulk drugs.
Its popular brands include Trimol, Thirty Plus and Pinkoo Gripe Water. It has three production facilities at Chikalthana, Paithan and Waluj in Aurangabad.
The company also has joint ventures in Mauritius, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. Besides, it has offices in US, Africa and CIS countries.
