According to a Bokaro Steel release, export of 43, 167 tonne of hot rolled coils in July was a new monthly record. It also exported 600 tonne of cold rolled sheets and coils in the same month.

Exports of SAIL's hot-rolled coils grew from 26,400 tonne in 1998-99 to 2,52,924 tonne in 1999-2000.

The hot-strip mill, the core of Bokaro Steel's saleable steel facilities as well as supplementary facilities like pickling l-- I and Tandem Mill -- I were out of operation from July 25 to August 2 due to capital repairs.
