Budget Session: Bjp Vows To Make Govt Sweat

THE BHARATIYA Janata Party is all set to attack the Delhi Government in the forthcoming budget session of the Delhi Assembly on issues such as delay in giving pensions to the elderly and lack of preparation for the coming summers with regard to water and electricity.
Mr Nand Kishore Garg, senior BJP MLA from Trinagar, will be moving a short duration discussion on the anomalies in the disbursement of old age pension.
In the last session, there was a discussion on the delay in disbursement of old age pensions. "Several elderly people are not getting their pension on time and the Government is not taking action. We will grill the Government on this issue," said Mr Garg.

BJP MLA Naresh Gaur had held a demonstration last week at the Social Welfare Department to protest against the delay in pension.
"Every day our office is flooded with complaints from the elderly that they are not getting their pensions on time.
This time we will demand a reply from the Government and action should be taken against the guilty," Mr Gaur added.
Apart from old age pension, the Delhi Government will also come under fire for not making adequate arrangements to prevent power and water crisis in the coming summer.
A short duration discussion in this regard has already been admitted in the budget session of the Delhi Assembly. The discussion will be moved by Mr Nand Kishore Garg.
"The summers are bad time for Delhiites since there is an acute shortage of water and power. But in the winter months the Delhi Government had prepared no plans to ensure that the Delhiites don't have to undergo a gruelling summer this time as well," Mr Garg said.
The BJP MLAs are worried that the water and electricity situation in the coming summer in the city will worsen.
"Moreover, the Delhi Government will be sleeping over the matter.
The worst sufferers in the process will the Delhiites who will have to pay for the lack of foresight on the part of the Delhi Government," pointed out Mr Garg.
The Government is also expected to be attacked on reduction in DTC buses routes both inside the city as well on highways.
The failure of the Delhi Government to check the rising pollution in River Yamuna will also be highlighted by the BJP in the House through various questions, which will be posed by the BJP MLAs during the Question Hour.
