Cmc Service Prop For Compaq

As NSSP, CMC will provide service and support to the enterprise and multilocational users of Compaq products. A single contract with CMC would provide for nation-wide support in a multivendor environment, said Sudev Muthya, the national service manager of Compaq.

"CMC is the one-point information technology support company which has expertise in product-maintenance of over 40 manufacturers," said CMC director S S Ghosh. "We are happy to tie-up with CMC which has consistently been ranked number one in maintenence by Dataquest for the last three years," said Abhishek Mukherjee, country manager of Compaq Asia Limited.

CMC has an already established network to provide service and support in over 100 locations across the country, and for this venture, CMC will be allocating dedicated manpower.

 

The five strategic business operations of CMC are maintenance and services, systems integration, international operations, Indonet (CMC's service network) and education and training.

CMC has supplied comprehensive marine container handling system (MACH) to the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust and the Calcutta Port Trust.

Support services for Indian railway reservations and for screen based trading in ten stock exchanges are also being provided by CMC.

Compaq India began operations in Bangalore two years ago in 1994.

It has since emerged as a leading multinational brand in the country.
