New Hudco Tech

Housing &Urban Development Corporation Ltd (Hudco) has focused on eco-friendly and efficient house building technologies in its exhibition held to commemorate National Technology Day in the capital.

"In addition to the need of eco-friendly and energy efficient technologies, there is also a need for local employment generation so that the development is at par with equity," a senior Hudco official said.

The techonologies exhibited are affordable and adaptable to various agro-climatic regions and are energy efficient and environment friendly, he said adding that the main aim of the company is to evolve such technologies which would help to check housing shortages in the country.

 

Hudco has also been coordinating national network of building centres, a government programme.

The exhibition also demonstrated the impact of the national building centre programme, he said adding that there are 410 building centres functioning across the country that have aided construction of numerous affordable housing units and community buildings.
